The hype

There seems to be some confusion about the press the 5D III is getting right now. The 5D II was and in many ways still is the most revolutionary DSLR to hit the market. So an upgrade to the camera has been anticipated by many for quite some time. And now that it is here it must be talked about and assessed. To see how it is or is not an improvement to the Mach II. I personally would love a 5D II at this point. 

Making movies in Winston Salem NC

Making movies in Winston Salem is a bit difficult. There doesn't seem to be much support for an artist that has little or no money. The Arts Council does not provide support unless you have money. My understanding is that they are supposed to be in the business of supporting artists. Whether  providing assistance financially,  in acquiring space or the means to raise funds.

This has not been the case in Winston Salem. When I went to school in Winston the Arts Council would bend over backwards to help emerging artists to succeed. That does not seem to be the case any longer.

The solution.... leave town to get a project in the can.

A couples interview

I interviewed a couple for the documentary. It was and was not what I expected. How we define manhood is different for each of us based on our experience with society.  It was easier for Dickie to describe the difference in terms of how a man tries to be a woman. Not the definition I was looking for but quite interesting.

Film Festival

So I went to the After Dark Film Festival at Studio 35 last night. 10 Horror films by women. It was a good time. The variety was from serious horror in the genera to comedy with dolls. But all well done. The films presented were all from Cali so it would be nice to see work made on the east coast and the Ohio area. Maybe next year.
