Making movies in Winston Salem is a bit difficult. There doesn't seem to be much support for an artist that has little or no money. The Arts Council does not provide support unless you have money. My understanding is that they are supposed to be in the business of supporting artists. Whether providing assistance financially, in acquiring space or the means to raise funds.

This has not been the case in Winston Salem. When I went to school in Winston the Arts Council would bend over backwards to help emerging artists to succeed. That does not seem to be the case any longer.

The solution.... leave town to get a project in the can.
